In Angola, cancer incidence and mortality is increasing dramatically, with breast cancer at its head. Among others, key challenges are limited cancer awareness, diagnosis, lack of breast surgical expertise, procurement hurdles and a limited healthcare budget.
In 2017 when Roche launched this activity in Angola and started engaging with HCPs, HCO and local authorities to evaluate the state of oncology in Angola. The TRACMA Project aims to solve access hurdles of breast cancer patients in Angola and provide diagnostic and treatment to the patients who can benefit from them. Also to advocate for stronger investment in NCDs and Oncology.
