Objectives
The aim is to elevate the competence of pharmacy professionals to effectively promote risk reduction and to promote diagnosis and treatment adherence for clients at risk of hypertension, diabetes and CVD.
PillTech Academy, an initiative launched in December 2022 approved by the PCC is enhancing the capabilities of pharmacists in business operations, financial literacy, and technology application in daily pharmacy management.
The Program is designed to offer a two-phase, specialized training to pharmacists. Complementing SwipeRx digital quality improvement initiatives, PillTech will use targeted offline trainings to equip pharmacists who are also pharmacy owners with the skills, knowledge, and tools to grow their businesses and provide optimal care for pharmacy clients at risk of diabetes, hypertension and CVD.
Results and milestones
- Create awareness among pharmacists on NCD knowledge focusing on Diabetes and Hypertension
- Enhance the knowledge and skills of pharmacists in underserved areas of Cambodia in various aspects of pharmacy operations, stock management and financial management
- Improve availability, affordability and quality of hypertension, diabetes and other essential medicines as a result of improved stock management
- Increase awareness of PillTech Academy resources and their benefits to participating pharmacies
