Sanofi Global Health Unit – Common Health Partnership: Karuna Moe, Myanmar
The rise of mobile technology in Southeast Asia offers opportunities to improve insulin adoption and care coordination. However, relying solely on digital solutions may fail to reach those in greatest need, like older or remote patients. Common Health advocates combining technology with community engagement to drive better NCD care and reduce costs

Objectives
- To increase the awareness and Diagnosis of Diabetes and Hypertension.
- The project includes Capability building for HCPs, Specialist Engagement, Family Medecine Service, Teleconsultation as well as broaden Access to medicines and increase medicine affordability.
The rapid advancement in access to mobile technology in S.E Asia presents an exciting opportunity to break down barriers to insulin adoption and adherence. This foundation of mobile and digital access can enable new models for raising awareness, educating patients, delivering care, and coordinating
with specialists.
At the same time, approaches that rely solely on digital interventions are unlikely to be successful at improving diabetes and hypertension care at scale. In practice, the patients with the most to gain from extra support – e.g., older people, people in remote areas – are the least likely to have smartphones with reliable internet connections, along with the digital literacy to use them. This is particularly important when patients are asked to undertake complex tasks such as self-management of multiple therapies.
Accordingly, Common Health believes that an approach combining cutting-edge technology with deep community engagement can be a scalable means of driving NCD therapy adoption and adherence, along with improvement in health outcomes and reduction in out-of-pocket costs.
